Bullets tend to cut through you, like a knife through butter, but the funny thing was that they didn’t hurt as much as Angell thought they would.

Angell stared at the acronyms and netspeak littered through the e-mail in front of her for a long minute before turning to Adam with a baffled look: “And you can actually read this?”

All she could hope for was that she had no regrets.

Despite all the problems that came with their short but sweet inter-office relationship, she was happy, which she had to say was something she hadn’t had in a long time.
